ARB is the governance token of the Arbitrum network – a popular Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. Arbitrum uses optimistic rollups to process transactions off-chain and post results on Ethereum, enabling faster, cheaper transactions with the same security guarantees.
What is ARB used for?
ARB is mainly used for decentralized governance. It allows the community to participate in the decision-making process regarding the Arbitrum protocol:
- Voting on protocol upgrades and improvements
- Allocating funds from the ecosystem treasury
- Supporting long-term community initiatives
Note: ARB is not used to pay transaction fees. On Arbitrum, gas fees are still paid in ETH.
What makes ARB unique?
- Governance-focused token with real community voting power
- Backs one of the fastest-growing Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystems
- Low-cost transactions via optimistic rollup architecture
- Large ecosystem of dApps, DeFi protocols, and developers
ARB on Floin
Floin supports ARB on the Ethereum Mainnet. You can store, send, and receive ARB – and take part in the governance of one of Ethereum’s most prominent Layer 2 networks.
