Fees

Modified on Wed, 10 Jun at 10:42 AM

At Floin, we are dedicated to full transparency. That's why we will clearly break down our fees each time you make a transaction.

Some services include a markup (also called spread) in the final price you see. This is the difference between the price Floin receives from its primary reference market (currently Kraken) and the price quoted to you. It ranges between 0.1% and 1% and covers execution risk, market access, and infrastructure costs.

How your price is determined

The rate displayed to you prior to the conclusion of the contract is determined in real time on the basis of current bid and ask market data from a reference market suitable for the relevant crypto asset. Where available, relevant and sufficiently liquid for the cryptocurrency in question, the Kraken reference price is used for this purpose. If a suitable Kraken reference price is not available, in particular due to a lack of listing or insufficient liquidity, the quote is determined on the basis of current bid and ask prices from other trading venues or liquidity sources suitable for the respective cryptocurrency and specifically named. The reference markets or liquidity sources used in each case are specified in the price description. The quote is binding for the validity period displayed in the transaction interface. Once you confirm the quote, execution takes place at the displayed price.

Floin acts as your direct counterparty for every transaction (principal model). You do not trade directly on Kraken or any other exchange, and you do not enter into any contract with our liquidity providers.

Execution is primarily automated. Should execution via our primary reference market not be immediately possible in exceptional cases (e.g., temporary liquidity constraints or technical disruptions), the transaction is processed through internal backup procedures. In all cases, your confirmed quote price is honoured. If processing takes longer than usual, you will be informed via a status update in the transaction interface.

Market volatility, order book depth, and available market liquidity may affect the availability of a quote and how frequently it is updated, but they do not change the confirmed price within the displayed validity period. Any applicable limits, or the absence of fixed limits, are clearly shown to you before you initiate the transaction.
